Another milestone was reached by Lorain County Habitat for humanity during 2007. For the first time in our history all of the houses completed in 2007 gained Five Star Energy Certificates. During the design process a decision was made to construct our houses to be energy efficient as well as affordable. Donations from Dow Chemical and Rinnai Corporation allowed us to accomplish this goal. Our houses underwent an extensive energy audit and were found to be in compliance with a Five Star Energy Certificate. We have also instigated initiatives to become a "green Builder".

I know its early to talk about taxes, but H & R Block and Lorain County Habitat for Humanity has formed a new relationship for the upcoming tax year. If you are a new H & R Block client* and present the linked form, H & R Block will donate $25.00 to Lorain County HfH. It’s a simple matter of printing the form and giving it to H & R Block when you do your taxes. Please remember us at tax time.

*A new client is someone that did not go to an H&R Block office last tax season.  They could have been a client in previous years, but skipped last year.
