Lorain County HFH is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry. We
seek to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness throughout Lorain County. We
are an affiliate of Habitat for humanity International, a world wide ministry.
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds
simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner families. These factors
allow Lorain County HfH offer 0% interest on the mortgages to our families.
From 1989 to 2009 we have built 39 houses throughout the county. For
the past three years we have strived to build at least three homes per year. Habitat
is not a give away program. In addition to a down payment and a monthly
mortgage payment, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor—sweat
equity—into building their Habitat home.
Habitat For Humanity not only builds homes, they build hope.
